A Deaconess
should be willing to share with others their gifts of love and compassion,
sometimes using their time, talent and means. They must attend to
the sick and afflicted. They should be a good example in their own
homes as wives and mothers. They should be able to assist the Pastor,
in meeting the physical needs of female members of the church. They
should assist in the preparation of baptismal candidates, especially
females and small children. They should be able to attend to the preparation
of the Communion table, preparing linen and other vessels used in
the Holy Sacrament.
